Port of Spain is
perhaps the only Caribbean island city or developing country
city with such strength of individuality, confidence and
spirit. It is dense and intense with small towns from the
very upscale to the working class neighborhoods. In the
centre of the city is the Central Park of Trinidad our
Queen’s Park Savannah. Our architecture represents the
European heritage with castles, churches, villas and even a
school, all very impressive of the wealth of the country
since its birth.
Port
of Spain boasts intriguing theatres, museums, art
galleries, sporting complex, inviting shopping and of course
delectable cuisine of a wide variety. Our night life could
compare with any international city and with the addition of
our local music calypso, chutney, and soca it’s just enough
to make the experience second to none.
So to describe
our city, Port of Spain to anyone who is yet to visit one
might use words such as interesting, warm, exciting,
intellectual and of course delicious.
“Port of Spain
is a bewildering and miraculous city.” Islands, May/June
